Maya How To Guide


How to Render
Step 1 - Make sure the animation is finished, and decide which camera I’m going to render
Step 2 - Make sure the drop-down menu at the top left is set to rendering
Step 3 - Go to Render -> Render Settings…
Step 4 - A menu will open. In the menu make sure all the settings are correct:
  • Set ‘Render Using’ to Maya Software
  • Make sure the path of the files are correct.
File Output
  • Name ‘File name prefix’ to your name
  • Change the ‘Image Format’ to Tiff (tif)
  • Change the ‘Frame/Animation ext’ to name.#.ext
Frame Range
  • Start frame: 1.000
  • End frame: 5.000
  • By frame: 1.000
Renderable Cameras
  • Change Renderable Camera to the camera you want to use
Image Size
  • Make sure ‘Presets’ is set to HD 540
Step 5 - Click close at the bottom of the menu
Step 6 - Click render in the menu at the top of the screen then click batch render. Render -> Batch Render. But don’t click the square next to the button
Step 7 - The first five frames will start to be rendered to the path location you in the render settings.
Step 8 - Check to see if the shots have been rendered properly
