Ideas for Corridor Design
A) Corridor/Floor Area
To make my corridor, I'm using the application, Maya. to start off, I made a polygon cube and shaped it round into a corridor type doorway. I extruded and duplicated shapes to make the form.
I then selected the doorway and duplicated it a couple of times to elongate the corridor. I'm going to use this as small different areas. within each door will be a different room.
Now I needed a floor. I first selected all the edges and extruded them out. This drags out the edges to create a wall, roof and floor. However, I wanted more detail on the floor
For more detail on the floor, I made a cylinder shape, changed the size and extruded it out. I then duplicated this and laid the pipes along the floor making a type of metal walkway look.
B) Texturing/Materials
For the pipes on the floor, I wanted it to seem like there was a reason or it. So I wanted the pipes to look metal. Like the was storage space underneath it. So I found a metal texture and applied it to the pipes.
C) Textured Objects
I made 3 objects in Maya. A security camera, a gun, and a hand scanner panel. The first is a security camera. I textured it with a simple black sleek metal, to have it slightly hidden.

For the gun, I used the same metal textures from before. But I assigned certain metal textures to certain parts of the weapon. For example, the handle is a different texture to the main chassis of the gun.

For the hand scan. I found a sample image and changed it a little bit in photoshop. I changed the colour and made it simpler.

D) Rendering
Once I had made the area, the objects and textured everything, I made a quick render check. It wasn't the full film, but just a short clip of the character walking forward through the area.
